In recent times, the city has been transformed with a massive ongoing
£9 billion regeneration programme, that has seen the creation of the
£1 billion Bullring shopping centre – Europe’s largest in-door regeneration project.

Today, Birmingham is home to the largest financial and creative districts outside London and generates more wealth than Glasgow, Manchester and Leeds, with manufacturing in the city accounting for 25% of British exports.

In 2004, an estimated 17.3 million day visitors came to Birmingham spending over £509 million.
